明治節の復活を望みます

文化の日は明治天皇の誕生日（11月3日）に由来します。戦前は天長節や明治節として祝われていましたが、戦後GHQの占領期に制定された祝日法で「自由と平和を愛し、文化をすすめる日」として文化の日に改められました。でも実際は

明治天皇の時代に日露戦争で勝利した史実などがあり、やはり日本が誇るようなことをひとつづつ、潰したという意見が多くあります。日本国憲法公布日でもあります。昭和の日が復活した例を参考に、名称を明治節に戻す議論もあるようです。歴史的な経緯を正しく理解しやはり明治節は復帰してほしいです、。

We Hope for the Restoration of Meiji Setsu

Culture Day originates from the birthday of Emperor Meiji (November 3). Before the war, it was celebrated as Tenchō-setsu or Meiji Setsu. However, during the postwar GHQ occupation, the National Holidays Act designated it as Culture Day, defining it as “a day to love freedom and peace and to promote culture.”

However, many people believe that this was part of a series of measures intended to eliminate, one by one, things that Japan could take pride in, including the historical fact that Japan won the Russo-Japanese War during the reign of Emperor Meiji.

November 3 is also the day on which the Constitution of Japan was promulgated. Taking the restoration of Showa Day as a precedent, there also appears to be discussion about restoring the name Meiji Setsu.

We hope that, after correctly understanding the historical background, Meiji Setsu will once again be restored.
